Overview

Once you have clicked the link in the email (Go to Video Upload), you will be sent to the upload page.

Figure 1

On the left hand side, you see an overview of all assets you need to deliver. You can click on each of them to see more details.

Figure 2

The ingest process of each asset is complete as soon as the three key sections are fulfilled (Figure 2):

  • Attachments: Please attach the required delivery paperwork as specified in the Production Guidelines. This may include shot lists, transcripts, and credit sheets.
  • Audio Channel Layout: Please fill out the audio channel mapping that each asset has. Please specify the audio type, whether the audio is mono or stereo and the language. For example, channels 13 & 14 contain interviews, are mono and the spoken language is English.
  • Essences: Please upload the video asset.

Label your files with the correct VIN.
To upload your video files, please click on the cloud icon in the top right corner. A pop-up window will appear, where you can upload all the files for the production at once. Simply drag and drop the clips into the window or choose them from your local storage.

Figure 3

Once the upload is complete, an automated check will be initiated to ensure that it fulfils our basic requirements (video codec, frame rate, frame size, etc).

If you upload a file which does not meet our requirements, then "format not supported" will appear under "essence type". In that case, please check our technical specifications again and re-export your clips accordingly.

After the upload is complete, you must ingest (link) each video file to their correct asset. If you have labelled your files with the correct Video Identification Number (VIN) at the beginning of the filename then you can do this step quite quickly.

Inside the Upload Manager, click on the arrow to the right. If the system detects a VIN, a button with the identification number will appear. Click on the button and the ingest will begin. Repeat this process for each file.

If you haven’t labelled your files with the correct VIN or if this option doesn’t appear for you, then exit the upload window, click on the asset on the left hand side and use the “Ingest File” button.

In the pop-up window, you need to choose the correct essence and then select “Ingest”. Repeat this process until every asset is linked with the correct essence.

Deactivate Essence

If you need to replace a file, whether because you uploaded the wrong version or because it did not adhere to Red Bull Media House technical specifications, you can always deactivate it and upload a new one.

To do this, click on the asset you would like to replace, select the “Essence” tab (tear drop) and under “Uploaded”, you should be able to click on an arrow, which will display the “Deactivate” button. Once you have clicked “Deactivate”, you can upload a new file.

If you do not have this option then, please contact your Content Manager or contact:

Audio Channels

Now that your video clips have been successfully ingested, you will need to fill out the audio channel layout. The background file check will detect how many channels are within each file.

Please fill out the audio channel mapping based on the audio components that make up your full mix. Repeat this step for all assets.

Attachments

For legal and archival reasons, it is necessary to upload some additional documents that will be linked to their respective assets. This paperwork may include shot lists, transcripts and credit sheets.

To attach the documents, please choose the asset from the asset list and click on “Attachments”.

You can upload all relevant documents for the particular asset by simply dragging and dropping the files in the upload area or by choosing them from your local storage. Please then select the attachment type from the drop-down menu and hit “Upload”.

Repeat this step for all assets.

Once all the steps have been completed, the symbols in the asset overview will turn from grey to blue.

QC Status

Each asset will display one of the following icons to indicate its status:

If your asset says “delivered” then Red Bull will determine if a quality check (QC) is necessary.

If your asset says “redelivery required”, then click on the asset to find the QC status (Figure 13) and the report (Figure 14) which can be downloaded.

It is likely that a member of our Quality Assurance team will be in contact with you to go through the report, answer any questions you may have and help to find solutions. If you have not been put in touch with a member of our Quality Assurance team, then please inform your Content Manager or contact contentmanagement.RBMH@redbull.com
